I spent time at the library trying to look for teaching resource kits designed by Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and I came across a couple of books that included Australian compositions. Wow! Part 1 of my assessment task was to include a list of 5 works. I didn't just choose these works because they were in my hand, but mainly because I spent time listening to them and actually enjoyed them. I did use one of the kits for some questions in my musicology question worksheets prepared for a year 12 Music 2 class - see Andrew Ford The Unquiet Grave - despite a little bit of rephrasing and reformatting so students can have space to write their answers in.
In the meantime, click here to access the musicology questions I gathered.
Looking forward to more stuff.
