CME Assignment 3 - Reflection #2

In complete silence, I try to wake up without making a noise or else my little brother would wake up. I get ready to take my sister to school, and before I even step out of my room, there he is standing... Mum's asleep from an exhausting night shift at work!!! Oh wow, so how am I meant to make sure he stays quiet without waking her up when I am supposed to be leaving to catch the train??? Worried that I arrive late, I quickly make breakfast for my brother, let him watch Boomerang channel on Foxtel and then promised him that if he's a good boy and doesn't wake up mum, that I would get him a chips packet or a pack of lollies when I return from uni. Convinced and responding to what I said, I became reassured that he'll be sensible.

I check the time and OMG it's 9:20am... I won't make it to uni on time. I'm supposed to see James at 10:07 - I ran so quick (arriving at the station at 9:30am) that after I tapped my opal card, I realised that my train is yet to leave in 1 minute... I nearly stacked it as I was running down the stairs of the platform!!! Luckily, a member of the crew saw this happening, and did not blow the whistle till I went in. PHEW!!!

Out at Circular Quay and it's 10am!!! I'm going to lose my time slot... Oh no. Sprinting again, I make it at 10:06 and then told that we are 5 minutes behind schedule. Should I try to relax and breathe now??

10:12 - I show James what I have so far in my composition (check "Reflection 1"), by playing it back on MuseScore. Obviously I seemed to undertake my baby steps which is a good start, but I need to think about and work on developing the song rather than having it at a pure highschool level. Developing the song could include:

• Additional layers - more texture

• Lyrics so that these repetitive riffs don't sound boring.

• Chords

Another thing to think about is how I'm going to have it all recorded. Complete no-no to MIDI formats of recording like Garageband or studio unless it's for a synth sound or a drum.

I'm yet to record soon within next week.
