Walking 5 mins late into lecture and surprised by the layout of the computer room - no computers on!!! Can we actually make analogue and digital instruments ourselves and where does musical creativity actually end? MIDI and OSC to the next level.
We are experimenting with the LittleBits Synth Kits and how the sound changes per trigger.
What is a synthesizer and how does it work?

Maker movement
Maker movement is this idea that technology has allowed us to invent and prototype our inventions super quickly because the price of this stuff has actually come down. 5 years ago 3D printers, for an example were very expensive BUT now is like $1000.
Mark Hatsch - inventor and talks about the natural human desire to make things.
Design and use is super important and thinking about how we interface with the world.
"Making is fundamental of what it means to be human..."
"You cannot make and not share.."
"Be playful with what you are making... participate, support and change."
The idea that you could build an instrument.
